Which Home Dermaroller Is Right For Me?

Which Home Dermaroller Is Right For Me?

One of the hottest topics on our skincare advice line is home dermarollers. When investing in a device, it's only natural to want to do your homework and choose the best one for you. While there isn't a great deal of difference between many of the home use rollers, here are some of the best options available.

Best Brand: Genuine Dermaroller

One of the originals, the Genuine Dermaroller is easily one of the most well known brands. As well as their 0.2mm roller, the brand have a range of complimentary products to help you get the most out of your dermaroller treatments, including the plumping Dermaroller Hyaluronic Acid.

Best Starter Kit: Mesotech

If you're serious about home dermarolling and want a kit that provides you with everything you need, then look no further than the Mesotech. For £99 you get one roller with two interchangeable heads “ a 0.3mm and 0.5mm “ plus a free cleaning solution.

Best Value: MTS

If you want to save some pennies without skimping on quality, MTS is the one for you. Available in a 0.3mm or a 0.5mm, the MTS roller is made up of 200 surgical stainless steel needles, giving it one of the highest needle ratios on the market. This one also comes with a free sterilizer.

Best for Allergy Sufferers: Environ Gold Roll-Cit

The majority of rollers are made of titanium or surgical stainless steel, which is fine for most of us but problematic for those who suffer from allergies to these metals. This one is gold plated, so is perfect for allergy sufferers. Plus, if you have a penchant for all things fancy, this will look great on your bathroom cabinet.

Other top tips:

Any roller with a needle depth greater than 0.5mm is not safe for home use and would be classed as a professional product. Be wary of anywhere selling these rollers as a retail product. A 0.2mm or 0.3mm is safe for regular use (every other evening), while a 0.5mm should only be used occasionally (once every 10-14 days). Although a home use roller doesn't necessarily have to be cleaned after every use, purchasing a sterilizing solution is advised to keep it hygienic and maintain its lifespan. If taken care of, a good quality roller should usually last around 18-24 months. Of course, this can vary depending on brand and frequency of use.
